The Haunted Station

October 15 – November 1
Closing Reception & Halloween Party: Saturday, October 31

They say the Gibson Gallery has a few permanent residents.

Long before it became an art gallery, the building served as a Michigan Central Railway station. Over the years, visitors and volunteers have shared stories of unexplained sounds, strange encounters, and things that simply can't be explained. And in a town with a haunted reputation like Amherstburg, maybe that's not so surprising.

This Halloween, we're inviting artists to explore the darker side of imagination for The Haunted Station—a juried exhibition celebrating dark art, horror, the macabre, folklore, the supernatural, and everything deliciously unsettling. Whether your work is creepy, mysterious, gothic, surreal, or simply strange, we want to see what lurks in the shadows.

Submission Guidelines

  • Maximum artwork size: 16" × 20"

  • Submissions must be hang-ready and dry-to-the-touch

  • Open to all mediums

  • Original artwork only

  • Dark, eerie, Halloween-inspired, or horror-themed work encouraged

  • Drop-off Deadline is October 10 at 3pm

The exhibition runs October 15 to November 1, with a Halloween Closing Reception & Costume Party on October 31.

The station is waiting. The only question is... what will you bring with you?
