  • Gibson Gallery 140 Richmond Street Amherstburg, Ontario Canada (map)

April 30 - May 17

Closing Reception: Sunday, May 17, 2:30PM

Pastel paintings inspired by the Masters of Impressionism. Most of the artwork was created en plein air in Windsor Essex County (Amherstburg, Kingsville, Leamington, Point Peelee etc.)

Anna Buckie is a visual artist working in oil & chalk pastel. Deeply inspired by the works of Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Mary Cassatt and the Group of Seven.

Anna is a member of PAC (Pastel Artists of Canada), SHO Art, Spirit and Performance (Windsor), Art Society of Kingsville (ASK), Painters' Guilds (Kingsville) and the Plein Air Windsor Essex County Group.

Anna held a number of art events and workshops, collaborated with fellow artists and local businesses, participated in multiple art shows, Plein Air competitions and received several awards.

Most of Anna's work has been painted outside of her studio, she prefers working en plein air surrounded by the breathtaking views of Canadian nature. She loves hearing the sounds of birds, feeling the breeze of wind and seeing the blue peaceful sky...

Creating art is an act of mindfulness, meditation and healing in the mid of busy and sometimes stressful life. Besides art, Anna is a parent and a caregiver.

Ukrainian-born, Anna's heart is always with her beloved Ukraine. Painting Canadian landscapes reminds Anna of her childhood, going to the cabin with her dad, gathering wild flowers, fishing and making soup on the campfire, looking in the starry sky and having deep conversations.
