Looking in a Rear View Mirror: Art Reflections by Bobbi (Barbara) Wagner
True to the Impressionist style, Bobbi Wagner’s paintings evoke time, place and mood.
In her words:
“I am a colourist, focused on plein air painting in the tradition of the Impressionists.
I love getting up early to chase the light, painting water, sky and clouds in all the colours that nature creates. Seeing a sunrise shedding its early morning light on the landscape and the sunset filled with radiant colours inspires me. Using the full spectrum of pigments, I aim to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the day through light and shadow. I often work in my studio, developing larger paintings from my plein air studies, photos and still-life set-ups. Fruits and flowers are some of my favorite still-life subjects. I love their beautiful colours, organic shapes and their cast shadows”.
